My Truths

What do I know for sure? To be honest, not too much. But I'm more than happy to share my personal truths...

1.If I decide to flat iron my extremely curly hair, it's going to either rain or be super humid outside so that I look like a crazy person with ball of frizz sitting on top of my head.

2.The moment I give my "old" clothes to the local Goodwill, I find the perfect occasion to wear that crazy gold beaded top with the faux fur collar.

3.The older I get, the more I realize, family really is most important.

4.Never let anyone borrow more money than you can afford to not have paid back. Especially when it's a family member, you almost NEVER get that money back.

5.Just when I think that everything is going well in my life, some dumb ass shows up and fucks everything up. Almost always.

In the comments...share your own person truths.

1. I will probably never fully pay off my student loans.

2. No matter what I do, the junkage in the trunk is not going ANYWHERE!

3. Stupid people make my ass hurt!

4. I am so with Nina on Number 2!

5. I am having a hard time deciding just how I want to pronounce the word "truths."

1.You will pay off your student loans, someday.
2.You could always get plastic surgery if you become rich and desperate.
3.Amen!
4.Never fails!
5.I'm going with "trooths". No, actually I'm going with truth+s. Gosh...is that even a word? I should have checked into that first :)

1. As soon as life is going better than ever, I get sick.

2. No matter how many times I say I'm going to leave Darrick if he doesn't ask me to marry him, I never will.

3.As soon as I spend my rainy day money, something happens, and I regret spending it. (i.e., the dentist, is now needing it).

That's all I can think of right now.

1.Maybe you need more vitamin C in your life.

2.Mayber you need more vitamin C in your life so that you can be stronger for more than fighting off colds.

3.Money always has a way of being needed somewhere else after it's been spent.

These are my responses to your truths...

1.My hair is impossible to deal with. If it gets longer than an inch and a half, it starts to get curly and turns into an incontrollable Jewfro. I therefore do the only thing I can do to tame it: get it cut before it gets too long.

2.I never give away clothes unless they don't fit anymore. When I lost the weight over the past few years, I had to get rid of some shirts that I had really grown attached to.

3.For me, it's the closest friends who I define as family, but true nonetheless.

4.I'd like to say that I'm a good judge of who will repay me and who won't. And I would only lend money to someone who I know would pay me back. These are generally the people who don't need the money as much as everyone else, but I guess there's a correlation there.

5.Did something happen to provoke this? I hope all is going well with you :)

1. When I'm tired, everything is harder and worse than it really is.

2. If you NEED it, get the best and you'll never be sorry. If you just want it, wait until you can afford to pay cash for it.

3. When I'm really upset and angry, I have to just shut the hell up and say nothing. If I start in, I will make it worse. Less is more when anger's at the fore.

4. I will never, ever change my mother. Ever. EVER.

5. I am happier if I remember that most people are basically stupid and then go from there.

IH~You must not go shopping nearly as much as me or you'd have no place to keep all the "old" stuff.
Re: #5 Sorta but that doesn't change the truth of the matter. However, everything is just fine!

Nance~
1. I find that I can't function AT ALL when I'm tired. Especially now!
2.You sound like my husband...damn, maybe he is right.
3.I tend to do the same thing although I've been known to scream and throw things as well.
4.I guess this means I won't be able to either.
5.This is why I like you soooo much!!! ( I just hope I've raised your opinion of me by now!)

I just found another one. When I'm hungry and I ask you what you want for dinner, you better have an answer, cause I will get very frustrated and angry.......ferocious.....

Some of our truths belong on a "20 Reasons Why" list for men. These might help them to understand us better than blaming it on (shhh)PMS.

1. If I don't shave my legs and go out on the town I will meet someone I want to get horizontal with...then have a very long debate on exactly how bad my legs are.
2. If I'm planning on going out on a night and shave my legs before work it will be so insanely cold I will get goosebumps, thus ruining the shaved legs.
3. The main reason I haven't achieved all my goals in life is Me.
4. No matter how much crap gets thrown at me I'll never be able to kick this hopelessly optimistic personality. Darn it.

Nic~I hate the what's for dinner conversation too!

Susan~
1.I just hate shaving my legs for any reason. But my days of going out and possibly hooking up are long gone so it all good, for me!
2.I hate when this happens.
3.That is a good place to start in order to achieve those goals, yes?
4.I'd love to be optimistic, it never happens though!

Nina--Good heavens! My opinion of you never needed to be raised.

I don't have a list, but I really agree about #4. I'd prefer to just give it away rather than lend it, then there is no waiting or hurt feelings.

Nance~Awe...I feel special :)

Belle~
1. How about you go back to school and create a little more debt, then you can bitch about paying it when you ARE doing what you'd like to be doing.
2.You'll get over him...eventually. Promise!
3.You're a brave woman to even admit that one out loud!

Anali~Money and friends/family just never seem to mix well, do they.
